FAQs

Isn’t hemp just the same as marijuana?

Nope. Cannabis, the plant, encompasses both hemp and marijuana, but hemp contains high amounts of CBD and low levels of Delta 9 THC. It’s an important legal distinction - recognized by the 2018 Farm Bill. (To review the bill yourself click here. Although a great (and simplified) testimony can be read here.)

Why was hemp banned to begin with?

Short version: “Prohibition.” Long version: Kind of still in that same era. Someone put it this way: hemp was made illegal because it was guilty by association, the casualty of a war against its twin, marijuana. Hemp production was legal until 1937, and then further restrained again in 1970, lumped in with marijuana. We aren’t hating on marijuana or making a value judgement against it, but the stigma from a banned substance has persisted although hemp has returned to a legally permissible status.

Does CBD actually work?

We aren’t snake oil salesman. There are many customer testimonials that attest to its many uses. There are also many repeat customers that, logically, would not buy CBD again and again if it did not work. However, these statements have not been evaluated by the FDA - so we can’t make certain, specific claims. Honest talk - CBD isn’t magic; it isn’t snake oil: its purpose is to help your body get back to square one so it can start taking care of itself again. So anxiety? Pain? Stress? It can help support with reliving those issues. Come in for a sample today. The sample is free.

How is Delta 8 legal?

Let us return to the 2018 Farm Bill. The simplest understanding is that Congress stayed very focused on Delta 9 THC, and said nothing of Delta 8 THC, naturally found in HEMP in small quantities. But, we will say: it is every individual’s responsibility to stay up to date with changes to state and federal laws.

I read something regarding the DEA and I’m concerned.

Fact: The DEA does not have the authority to change or make laws. This role is reserved strictly for Congress. The 2018 Farm Bill, passed by the US Congress in accordance with the US Constitution, emphatically states that hemp production is now legal, as long as it does not contain more than 0.3% Delta 9 THC (the predominate THC component in marijuana). (To review the bill yourself click here. Although a great (and simplified) testimony can be read here.)

I heard Delta 8 isn’t legal in some states.

True. Some states have banned Delta 8. But it’s important to note: some of the earliest states to ban Delta 8 were those with legalized recreational marijuana (and with strong lobbyist organizations influencing those decisions).
